APC Accuses FG Of Plaining To Create Fake Abubakar Shekau
All Progressives Congress Presidential (APC) Campaign
Organisation has raised the alarm about reports of a fake Abubakar Shekau (Boko Haram leader) allegedly being paraded by the Federal Government, which it
says the government intends to use to create an impression that it is winning the war on terrorism.
It said credible sources had alerted the APC that the fake Shekau might become a tool to blackmail members of the opposition “by coaching the
phantom terror chief” to say he was working for the opposition party candidate, Maj. Gen Muhammadu
Buhari(retd.), in order to link its presidential candidate to terrorism as it had attempted but failed
in the past.
A statement by the Director of Media and Publicity of the APCOPC, Malam Garba Shehu, wondered where the “new Shekau” would come from after
government, at several times in the past, announced that it had killed the insurgents’ leader.
“The charge to the military, that they should catch Shekau alive by the President in the last 24 hours,
lends credence to the report that indeed a fake Shekau is about being created,” it said.
The statement noted that “the profile of the leader of the insurgents, Shekau, of a dedicated ideologue,” presupposed that the man was not likely to allow
himself to be caught alive.
“It is both contradictory to the ideology he preaches and the psychological profile that the world has of him that Shekau would allow himself to be caught
alive,” the statement said.
The APCPCO recalled that the attack in Kaduna, on the party’s presidential candidate, was believed by most Nigerians that it was perpetrated by the Boko Haram. It added, “The police that are constitutionally empowered to investigate and report on such incidents have not contradicted the widespread belief that this was a Boko Haram’s attack.
“The view of the APC is that it does not make sense for General Muhammadu Buhari to be in league with, or be associated in any way with people who have set out to kill him.”

Fiona Anderson was an emotional wreck when she killed her 3 kids and committed suicide.A UK woman named Fiona Anderson (pictured above) who was pregnant killed her three children and self, she actually told her children that she loved them and could not allow them to suffer all alone in this world.
An inquest looking into the pathetic case heard that 23 year old Suffolk who drowned her 3year old Levina, 2year old Addy and 11 month old Kyden, before jumping to her death in a car park later that evening, had written 'I love you' on their bodies before kissing and tucking them up in bed.
The inquest heard that the children had been drowned in the bath, with post-mortem evidence suggesting they had neither been restrained nor assaulted.
Each of the three children had a heart drawn on their torso in green ink to spell out the message “I love you x”, while police also found evidence of a lipstick-mark kiss on each of their foreheads.
Chief Inspector Andy Smith said officers had entered Ms Anderson’s bedroom to find three messages written on the walls.
"I put them to bed with their bear bears – they loved their bears".
Another message said:
"I love them and I’m going to keep them safe".
While the third read:
"They’re cuddled up together sleeping. They look so peaceful".
Mr Smith said Ms Anderson was also found to have written the names of her children on her own body, as well as 'Eve', the name she intended to give her unborn daughter.
Smith also disclosed that the day before the deaths, Ms Anderson had argued with the children’s father, Craig McClellan, after he started a new relationship. She stabbed him during the confrontation, but lied about it to police in order to stop the children being taken into care.
It is clear that Fiona Anderson loved her children but that she was extremely emotionally disturbed on April 13, 14 and 15.
A letter found after her death provided further 'harrowing insight into her life' including 'her intention to take her children with her'.

FIRE OUTBREAK IN KEFFI
It was an unfortunate incident this afternoon for certain family during the middle hours of today as fire struck out from a building close to Keffi Market in Nasarawa state bringing down the entire shop coupled with the content of it....
The cause of the fire which could not be determined during the time of this report was severe and is believed to have even caught owners of the shop in it.
However, one of the survivor who happen to be the only person that came out of the fire was crying for her husband and sales girl and by all indication are believed to have been caught in the fire.

Musician - Tuface Idibia dies following Jet-Ski crash in Turks and Caicos Islands
Musician Tuface Idibia died while on a personal vacation in Turks and Caicos early this morning from injuries sustained in a Jet-Ski accident -February 9, 2014

Preliminary reports from Turks and Caicos Police officials indicate that the musician struck a concrete boat slip in a marina on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Tuface Idibia was the only passenger on the personal watercraft at the time of the incident. Specific details are not yet available.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. (UTC/GMT -4 hours).
Additional details and information will be forthcoming.
The Turks and Caicos Islands, in recent years have grown in popularity as a quiet getaway destination for celebrities. The Turks and Caicos Islands consist of 40 islands and cays, eight of which are inhabited. The islands are located 550 miles southeast of Miami, Florida, just below the Bahamas chain and just to the east of Cuba and the island of Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti.) Technically, the Turks and Caicos are located in the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean Sea.

Nigerian Airports to have Hi-tech explosive detectors - FG
In a bid to boost safety and security measures in Nigeria's airports, the Federal Ministry of Aviation has acquired Hi-tech three-in-one explosive detectors for 15 out of the 22 airports in the country. The facilities would be capable of detecting liquid, metals and explosives during airport screening.
Announcing this new development yesterday, spokesman for the Aviation Ministry, Mr Yakubu Dati said that the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja and the Muritala Mohammed International Airports in Lagos already have the facilities installed, while other airports are in the process of having theirs fully installed. Good news!

50 Cent sentenced to 3years probation for domestic violence
In a case that usually attracts jail time, rapper 50 Cent has avoided going to the slammer after he was charged with domestic violence against his second baby mama.
In a deal worked out by his lawyers that removes a serious domestic violence charge, 50 has agreed to plead no contest to one count of misdemeanor vandalism and was sentenced on Monday to three years probation.
He must complete 30 days of community service and attend counseling, as well as pay $7,100 in restitution to Daphne Narvarez, the mother of his second child.
The former couple got into a fight on June 23, when according to Narvarez, 50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, kicked open a bedroom door at her Toluca Lake condo before kicking her. In August, he was charged with domestic violence and four counts of vandalism, and faced up to five years in prison if convicted.
According to TMZ, a restraining order against the rapper remains in effect.

Seizure hits Chris Brown, Calls 911.

The L.A. City Fire Dept. rushed to a Hollywood recording studio early Friday morning, after getting a 911 call that Chris Brown had a seizure ... TMZ has learned.
The call came from Record Plant recording studios in Hollywood at 1:09 AM. When EMTs arrived ... we're told Chris refused treatment and also refused to be transported to the hospital.
We do not know if it was indeed a seizure, but we've learned Chris did suffer from seizures as a child.

The Nigerian students are back home after over a year in hiding in Canada
Victoria Ordu and Favour Amadi (pictured above), have been in hiding for more than a year and took refuge in four different city churches hoping that the Canadian authorities will forgive them...but that didn't happen. The authorities refused to budge and the girls had no choice but to return to Nigeria. They left Saskatchewan yesterday Friday Oct 18th. They were scheduled to get on a plane to Nigeria last night, so they should be here by now..
According to the BBC, the University of Regina President, Vianne Timmons, was at the airport to say good-bye to the ladies. Timmons said the girls left voluntarily in the hope that doing so would allow them to return to Canada later. The University is vowing to help the students come back.

How we survived the plance crash, by Feyi Agagu
A close family friend of Feyi, son of late Chief Agagu, who is one of the survivors of the ill fated Associated Airlines flight, told Vanguard that he (Feyi) was initially reluctant to enter the plane after seeing how old it looked. (The exact plane pictured right). He and others survived basically by sitting at the back of the plane. Below is what a family insider Feyi spoke to said;
“The young man said that once they got to the tarmac before boarding and once he sighted the plane, what struck him was the seemingly very old look of the plane. Feyi said he didn’t like the looks of the plane. He also said but for the importance and significance of the trip, his inner sense didn’t feel comfortable boarding the plane.
"In fact, Feyi said he told another survivor, Femi Akinsanya, that the plane looked too old and he didn’t feel like boarding. But Feyi said he was told not to get himself worked up needlessly since this was not going to be his first time aboard a plane neither would this be the first old-looking plane that he would board. That was how he said he boarded the plane”.
“Feyi recounted how he and Femi Akinsanya boarded the plane and moved straight to the back end to take up seats. Why Feyi chose the back seat”, the source said, “was more a function of his state of mind about the state of the plane rather than a preference for taking a back seat.
“When they sat down, Feyi told me that he and Femi simply prayed that they should just take off and land safely, oblivious of what lay ahead of them. “Feyi said once they took off, everything happened so fast. What he also told me was that both he and Femi noticed what looked like a crack not far from where they sat at the rear end of the plane
“He said everything happened so fast that by the time the plane crashed on the ground, it was that crack that had been noticed earlier that transformed into a gapping exit point upon impact on the ground.
“Feyi said the exit point created was where he and Femi escaped through”.
Another source further revealed that most of the survivors of the crash appeared to be those seated at the rear end of the plane.
Though 23years old, the plane, according to Balami David, the President of the National Association of Pilots and Engineers, during a television interview, reportedly operated some days before the ill-fated flight.

Then someone said there was this new guy and then they played his song and I liked it. Sometime later, we were at Cool FM and I spotted him jumping about and being very playful. He was so energetic; I liked him instantly and wanted him as my love interest in the video. So my manager called him up, he was so nice, he came over, we talked and he told me the day we were going to shoot the Video was his birthday. Then I got scared that he might not make it. Unfortunately, on the day of the shoot, he got robbed that morning but he still made it to the shoot and then left after his part. We’ve been friends ever since

It did! Less than 20 minutes after we put up the picture on Instagram, it just went crazy and we were not even in Lagos; we were in Abuja. We went for the Hennessy Artistry and we were at the airport before we went to the hotel, so we were just taking pictures then before we knew it, it was everywhere. It was kind of funny because we were just two people sitting somewhere and making the industry talk.

Plane crash latest: FAAN confirms 15 dead, 5 survivors
An Associated airlines plane crashed on Thursday morning, killing at least 15 people, just minutes after taking off at the Murtala Muhammed International in Lagos, southwestern Nigeria, aviation authorities said.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, said in a statement that five persons survived the crash which occurred at 9.32 am.
The propeller aircraft marked 5N-BJY crashed on its way Akure, the Ondo State Capital with 20 passengers on board, authorities said. It was not clear if that figure included crew members.
“We confirm today the crash of an Embraer 120 (plane) belonging to Associated airlines,” the statement read.
“The rescue operation commenced immediately with all the relevant agencies moving enmasse to the crash site,” FAAN said.
Authorities said the black box of the crashed plane has been found and some survivors were already being treated at the hospital.
“We call on the public to shun unconfirmed reports by avoiding speculation that could mar investigations into the crash,” FAAN said.

Our correspondent at the scene could not identify the bodies from the wreckage. There was smoke everywhere and the stench from the scene was heavy.
The Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB, did not know what caused the plane. Tunji Oketunbi, AIB spokesperson said investigators have been deployed to the scene.
The plane was said to have been chartered to convey to Akure the casket of the former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Agagu, who died in Lagos on 13 September, 2013.

Angry Fans Stone Wizkid Over His Refusal To Honour Cheering Crowd At VFS, Lekki
Ayodeji Balogun a.k.a Wizkid was today stoned by angry fans at the VFS Global Services, Lekki phase 1 over the Azonto Crooner's arrogant attitude and his refusal to part away with some naira notes despite the much accolades he got from the cheering crowd who were so elated to catch a glimpse of their Superstar.
Wizkid who was dressed in a White T-shirt and a Red Sofa Shoe without any cap or sunglasses came in a black coloured Porshce Cayenne with covered number plates, the starboi who must have been sneaked into the VFS Compund came out into the waiting hands of a large number of cheering fans who wanted to shake and snap pictures with Wizkid. Obviously they wanted some naira notes as well #TypicalNaijaWay
Sirkenayo.net confirmed that Wizkid who must have had his mind made up came outside the VFS Compound where he had gone to submit travelling documents for Canada and shunned the cheering crowd. All efforts to get Wizkid to snap pictures, shake or even show "some love" financially to the cheering crowd fell on deaf ears as Starboi completely ignored everyone as he walked arrogantly into the waiting Porsche Cayenne.
SK Correspondent who was at the scene confirmed that Wizkid's silence and arrogant attitude got the cheering fans pissed hence why they resulted into stoning the BET Award winner as he made to drive out. Unfortunately for Wizkid, one of the many stones caught his car side glass but the Pakurumo crooner never waited a second ***Escape Thingz***
The angry fans who complained bitterly placed a comparison between Wizkid and Durosoke Crooner, Olamide. They argued that Olamide would never ignore his fans as he constantly relates with the street hence why he's never been mobbed or attacked.
We hope the damage done to Wizkid's car won't cost the Superstar some hundred of thousands though, but come to think of it, 20k could have saved Wizkid the embarrassment and damage…..

We need to make choices in this country as we are getting to the stage where recurrent expenditures take the bulk of our resources and people get paid but can do no work. Since I assumed office, the share of recurrent expenditure in our total budgets had increased astronomically. In fact, recurrent expenditure accounted for about 77.2 per cent of the federal budget and we are now working to re-balance this ratio.
The country is still suffering from the effect of the 2010 increase in salary. Do we want to get to a stage in this country that all the money we earn is used to pay salaries and allowances? If the demands of the university lecturers are met and we continue to pay them salaries and allowances, we will not be able to provide infrastructure in the universities."
So what does this mean? Students will continue to stay at home?

Hoodlums who attacked corper in Bayelsa state have been arrested
The two men attacked the NYSC nurse as she was returning to the corpers' lodge after her shift at the Niger Delta Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri, Bayelsa state. The men had earlier in the day visited the teaching hospital to donate blood and were paid by Ms Akinbode. They waited for her to leave work and attacked her with a machete after stealing from her.

Photos: Hoodlums cut off Youth corper's hand in vicious attack
Folakemi Akinbode, an NYSC nurse attached to the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri, Bayelsa state, was viciously attacked by a group of still unidentified hoodlums on Monday August 5th around 9pm on her way to the corpers' lodge.
Folakemi was returning from her shift in the hospital when the hoodlums attacked her with a machete. Her right hand was nearly severed. Fortunately she survived the attack. That is her above after surgery. Now see what they did to her after the cut...

According to residents of the area where the attack took place, the violence is mainly perpetrated by locals and it has been going on for a while. A few weeks ago, they broke into the hospital's lab and attacked the technicians and also broke into the doctors quarters to do same and carted away their valuables. The state government and hospital executives should please do something about the safely of corpers and everyone else in this area.

UN may sanction Nigeria for al-Bashir's visit
The International Criminal Court, The Hague, said on Tuesday, that it might report Nigeria to the UN Security Council for possible sanction over its failure to arrest al-Bashir, during his visit to the country.
This came even as the European Union maintained on Tuesday that UN member states, including Nigeria, a state which is a party to Rome Statute, should abide by and implement the UN resolutions.
Al-Bashir cut short his visit to Nigeria and abruptly left on Monday amid calls for his arrest by groups and activists.
ICC said it had on Monday sent official request to Nigeria, demanding the arrest of al-Bashir to enforce the international arrest warrants issued on him since 2009.
The ICC issued the warrants on March 4, 2009 and July 12, 2010, after indicting him for crime against humanity in the Darfur crisis.
An ICC spokesman, Fadi El-Abdallah, was quoted by Financial Times as saying that the three judges trying Bashir's case might have to ask the UN Security Council to sanction Nigeria for violating its commitments as a signatory to the court's founding treaty.
El-Abdallah said, "The judges have asked the court's registry to prepare a report on Mr Bashir's visit to Nigeria. After that it is up to them to decide whether to refer it to the Security Council."
The Sudanese leader had arrived in Nigeria on Sunday to attend an African Union summit on HIV/AIDs, tuberculosis and malaria, which was to end on Tuesday, but left abruptly on Monday.
But spokesman for Sudanese Embassy in Nigeria, Mohammed Moiz, told The Washington Post that his country's head left to fulfil other engagements.
Barely 24 hours after his arrival, a coalition of Non-Governmental Organisations approached a Federal High Court in Abuja to compel the Federal Government to enforce the ICC warrant for Al-Bashir's arrest.
Meanwhile, a group under the aegis of Nigeria's on International Court of Justice on Tuesday protested against the country's failure to arrest al-Bashir.
The peaceful protest held within the premises of the International Conference Centre in Abuja, where the AU summit held.
The Chairman (steering committee) of NCICJ, Mr. Chima Obiagwu, who led placard-carrying members of the group, condemned the reception accorded to al-Bashir by the Nigerian government.
A human rights group, PEN Nigeria Centre, described al-Bashir's visit as "nothing but an insult on Nigerians as well as an indictment of the Goodluck Jonathan's administration."
The group's Secretary-General, Ropo Ewenla, said Nigeria, as party to the Rome Statue, was bound to execute the arrest warrants issued by the ICC against al-Bashir, when he was within its jurisdiction.
EU High Representative, Catherine Ashton, stressed in her statement the need for member states to abide by and implement the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
Court summons Jonathan to testify against Leadership journalists
Leadership Group Limited and two of its journalists - Tony Amokeodo and Chibuzo Ukaibe - are facing 11 counts of forgery and conspiracy following the publication of the bromide of a presidential directive by the newspaper on April 3, 2013.
Jonathan's summons came via a subpoena signed by the presiding judge, Justice Usman Musale.
The subpoena dated July 15, 2013 was addressed to the President through the Federal Ministry of Justice Headquarters, Maitama, Abuja.
At the continuation of the case on Tuesday, counsel for the journalists, Femi Falana (SAN), said the Federal Ministry of Justice conveyed the summons to the President.
Falana drew the court's attention to the development after Federal Government lawyer, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), stated his readiness to proceed with the trial.
Falana noted that he filed an application asking the court to suspend the proceedings indefinitely, until the end of Jonathan tenure to enable him to testify in the matter as ordered by the court in the summons.
The President, by virtue of the immunity clause in the constitution, will not be able to testify in court until he leaves office.
Falana argued that there would be no guarantee of the accused persons' fundamental rights to fair hearing if the President could not testify in court.
He said, "By virtue of Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, this court lacks the vires to issue and cause to be served a subpoena ad testificandum on the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, to testify as a witness for the accused persons in this case.
"The accused persons are inhibited from obtaining the attendance of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, to testify as a witness for the accused persons in this case."
He, therefore, sought the suspension of the proceedings until a time when Jonathan would be able to testify in court, especially when he leaves office.
But Awomolo opposed the application, arguing that it was not yet ripe for hearing.
He said the accused persons should wait for the prosecution to try its case and when it was time for them to open their defence, they could bring up the issue of Jonathan's appearance before the court.

Man sets pregnant lover on fire
Until June 23, not many could have suspected that all was not well between Emeka Agu, 28, and his pregnant girlfriend, Miss Bidemi Akinsolufe. That night, disaster struck in their home in Ayobo area of Lagos, as Emeka allegedly set his lover ablaze.
The reason? To prevent the lady from charming other men with her beauty. Nearly a month after, Bidemi still writhes in pain at the Gbagada General Hospital, even as Emeka awaits his date with the law. The reporter met the badly burnt lady on her hospital bed and she narrated what led to the sad incident.
“I started dating him last year but my boyfriend is very jealous. Even whenever my sister called me, he would want to call back to be sure it wasn’t a man that called me. “He was working before and had his own place but he later lost his job and had no place to stay. I secured a mini-flat in Ayetoro and asked him to join me there.
We had been living together since then. “Recently, when I took in, he asked me to stop working and I did. But he drinks a lot. He spends his money on alcohol and I always told him that I was worried that his liver might be destroyed. He doesn’t trust me; he thinks I date other men.
“He used to work in the night as a bouncer in a hotel. The day before he set me on fire, his former boss had summoned him and I thought maybe the man wanted to offer him a job. So, on the morning of that day, Sunday, June 23, I called him to know if he had gone to the man’s place.
As we were speaking on the phone, he told me he was already high. And I asked him why he should spend his money on alcohol when I was hungry at home. “I was angry, so I went to report him to his friend. His friend then called him and talked some sense into him. But when he knew that I was with his friend, he became angry and accused his friend of sleeping with me. He said he would suck my blood for sleeping with his friend.
I was even explaining to him that I couldn’t be sleeping around with my pregnancy but he wasn’t convinced. He began to call me names, that I was a useless woman. He later said it was all right, that he wasn’t angry again.
So, I went back home. “When I got back home, one of my friends told me that Emeka had reported me to her, saying I locked him outside in the rain. So, when I got to our apartment, I begged him and my friend also begged him. He said he was no longer angry but I didn’t know he still had plans to deal with me.
“After a while, he pretended as if he wanted to go to the toilet and while walking past me, he suddenly gave me a terrible slap. Then he began to beat me. In fact, I had never been so thoroughly beaten since I was born.
He had only slapped me on two earlier occasions. That night, I was yelling for help but I guessed people weren’t hearing me outside. I was crying and threatening to pack out of the apartment. “Then he said he would destroy my beauty. But I didn’t believe he would do anything so devilish.
Then he went to the kitchen, brought out the stove and poured the kerosene on me. He lit a match and threw it at me and I was burning. I rushed to the kitchen to get water but he was pushing the buckets of water away. I was yelling and crying.
Then after some time, he began to say to me: ‘My babe, your face is burnt, I’m sorry.’ “I didn’t even know that my face was badly burnt. I initially thought my hands were the only parts affected until much later when I saw my face in the mirror.
“When he realised the damage he had done, he began to beg me, saying he would marry me. He said I should stay inside, that he would go and get raw pap to apply on the burnt parts of my body. But as he wanted to go out of the apartment, I followed him. He said he wasn’t running away, that he just wanted to get the pap and get back. And I said okay, but I was following him.
He kept pushing me back but I insisted on following him out. Later, one of our neighbours, a man, knocked on our door and asked what was wrong with me. He replied that there was no problem but I shouted that the man should come in to save my life.
I told the man that the door wasn’t locked, that he should push it. Eventually other neighbours came and pushed the door open and I immediately ran outside so that everyone could see me. I think that was when I passed out.” After she lost consciousness, some of her neighbours quickly rushed her to the nearest hospital from where she was transferred to the Gbagada General Hospital. Meanwhile, the neighbours also alerted the police in Ayobo, who came to arrest Emeka.
Bidemi also told the reporter: “He told me it was the devil’s handiwork but I know God would repay him. I leave everything to God. I have been hospitalised here now since then, and my people have been spending money on me.” “Initially, I thought no man would want me any longer since he had destroyed my face. But my people said no, that they wouldn’t allow me near him again.
They said he should write an undertaking that he wouldn’t come after me but I’ve been told that, even with an undertaking, he might still try to harm me. I will have the baby but he must never ask for my child. I want him to face the music. I want justice to be done.”
Bidemi’s mother, Mrs. Nike Adeyemi, also spoke with the reporter. Said she: “Some good neighbours took my daughter to a nearby hospital and asked her boyfriend to stay with her there. They then secretly invited policemen to arrest him. We are already in court.” “I have spent all I have to treat my daughter.
None of Emeka’s people has paid a dime out of the heavy hospital bills. We have spent over N200, 000 now and we are still spending. The doctor said we would need, at least, N500, 000 for comprehensive treatment for my daughter because her face and hands have been badly burnt.
You can see the wounds are still looking fresh even after over three weeks. I don’t even have any money for her treatment any more.
I’m so fed up. One of Emeka’s sisters came to me with policemen from Ikoyi. She offered to pay me N40, 000 so that the boy would be released. I refused to collect the money because I said it was even an insult for her to offer that little amount when we were being asked to bring N500, 000.
“I don’t even know where to turn to for help. Please, help me beg compassionate Nigerians to come to our aid. I don’t want my daughter to die. I think we will also have to do something about her pregnancy because I don’t ever want her to have anything to do with that boy any longer.”
The reporter spoke with Emeka’s sister, who allegedly offered N40, 000 to Bidemi’s family. Her words: “I don’t know what to do again. I didn’t know when Emeka and Bidemi started their friendship.
I didn’t send him to set the girl ablaze. I’m even tired of everything. I am a widow myself and I don’t have money. I have even used the N40, 000 that I offered her to take care of some other issues. I’m tired of the whole issue and I don’t know what to do.”
